Higher Foreclosure Rates in Charlotte Versus North Carolina Overall


As a Charlotte-based attorney who represents mortgage loan borrowers and homeowners in mortgage relief and foreclosure matters throughout North Carolina, I pay very close attention to foreclosure rates in the Queen City and in NC overall.  


Unfortunately, Mecklenburg County had by far the most foreclosures in North Carolina in February, 2013 (by way of comparison, Meckenburg had 22.5% more foreclosures than Wake County, even though the populations are almost identical in number.) In fact, Mecklenburg County’s foreclosure case rate is more than 3 times the state average as of February, 2013:
